BRAZILIAN NATIONAL PROGRAM OF GENOMIC AND PRECISION HEALTH
GENOMAS BRASIL
Institutionalized through Decree nº 1.949/GM/MS, on August 4th of 2020, Genomas Brasil is a science, technology and innovation program, coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology, of the Secretariat of Science, Technology, Innovation and Strategic Input in Health, from the Ministry of Health (Decit/SCTIE/MS), that aims to overcome structural limitations found in the country to allow the implementation of precision and personalized medicine in the Unified Health Service (SUS).
The specific objectives of Genomas Brasil are:
-
strengthen the field of science and technology in precision and personalized medicine in the country;
-
establish a pilot research project to assess the feasibility of implementing a line of care based on genomics in the SUS;
-
stimulate and strengthen the development of the national industry in the area of precision and personalized medicine.
CONFERENCE TOPICS: Applications of genomic medicine in the SUS; Genomic information; Ethical, legal and social aspects of genomic data; Population genomics: underrepresented populations; Accelerating access to precision medicine in global health; The role of the genome in the pharmacological response; Precision Medicine and Advanced Therapy Products.
Faced with the growing expansion of scientific, technological and innovation advances in health, the world is increasingly discussing the adoption of precision health to improve the quality of life of the population and the rational use of public investment in health.
The 2nd GENOMAS BRASIL INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT will address the theme “Implementing Genomics and Precision Health: Advances and Challenges”.
